Down with Marketing?
I have heard people say that churches should not think about marketing. All they should do is focus on preaching the gospel and making disciples. The truth is, you cannot not do marketing (that appears to be poor grammar). Does your church have an answering machine, website or bulletin? That's all marketing. Even your church sign, architecture and landscaping are marketing. You cannot get away from it. If you attempt to do anything to attract new members or believers, you are doing marketing. Marketing is just simply the way you choose to present yourself. It's not bad. It just is.
