Homeschooling in CA Without Credentials Illegal

A recent ruling in CA didn't change anything but affirmed the law that you cannot home school in CA unless you have a teaching credential. Your kid must be in a public or private school with a credentialed teacher, or tutored at home by someone with credentials.

Homeschoolers' setback sends shock waves through state
"The Second District Court of Appeal ruled that California law requires parents to send their children to full-time public or private schools or have them taught by credentialed tutors at home."
The Judge quoted from a 1961 ruling:
"A primary purpose of the educational system is to train school children in good citizenship, patriotism and loyalty to the state and the nation as a means of protecting the public welfare,"

Part of the inconsistency in the law or the ruling is that private school teachers in California are not required to have a credential.

Some creative individual might set-up a private school and "hire" all the parents in the state as teachers -- and then allow them to teach from home using the curriculum of their own choosing.

And let's not forget that our children must be made into productive, compliant members of the future workforce. Gag me...
