From the Covenant Church web site: New AVA Coordinator Announced - Evangelical Covenant Church: "The Board of Women Ministries has chosen Yvonne DeVaughn from Casa Grande, Arizona, to be the new director of the Advocacy for Victims of Abuse (AVA) initiative begun in 2004. AVAThe position provides leadership and oversight of the AVA network, which currently includes 16 trained regional coordinators. The coordinators equip local churches to minister to victims of domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse. AVA currently focuses its efforts on adult women who have been victims of domestic violence and adult women who were sexually abused as a child." Another great reason to be a Covenanter.
