Professor Frustrated With Students Lack of Bible Knowledge

An English professor at University College is frustrated in teaching poetry because his students have absolutely zero Bible background and they are unable to grasp the depths of the poetry. Take for example Milton's Paradise Lost. nearly every biblical allusion floats over the head of his students. He suggests the college do something about this. Like what? Teach Bible classes?
