Church of England Recognizes Anglican Church of North America -- Slap at Episcopal Church
VirtueOnline | BREAKING NEWS | ACNA Recognized in Spirited Debate by Church of England Synod In vote passed by an overwhelming margin, the Church of England recognized the Anglican Church in North America. Formerly, there was only one officially recognized branch of Anglicanism in the US -- The Episcopal Church. As of today — there are two. Let's just be straight about one important matter here: many news outlets are reporting that the Anglican Church in North America is a breakaway group. But to be fair, the Episcopal Church is the one who has broken away from orthodox Christian faith. If there is any breakaway group it's the Episcopal Church. They are the ones who have departed. Mark my words -- 100 years from now as new seminary church history text books are written, the Archbishop Robert Duncan, will be a hero of the Christian faith for safely leading North American Anglicans through this sea of persecution and theological innovation by the Episcopal Church. This is a huge day for him and all those in ACNA. |
